...a word

from our Pastor

“May is a time of celebration and recognition here at Forest Hills. One of my favorite Sundays of the year is Mother’s Day. We will honor our mothers and celebrate their hard work and scrafice on our behalf.

The Bible is full of examples of godly women that made a huge difference, not only in the loves of their families, but in the very fabric of the nation of Israel. From the courage of Jocebed (Moses’ mother) to the faithfulness of Hannah (Samuel’s mother), we see over and over the vital role a mother plays. Solomon wrote in Proverbs, “…do not forsake your mother’s teaching.”

On Mother’s Day, May 10th , the regular morning schedule will be in effect. However, we will not have any evening activities, so that you can visit your mothers, and our mothers can spend time with their visiting families without being rushed.

Another May celebration will be Graduation Sunday on the 17th . We will honor the high school and college graduates in the morning services. That evening the AWANA recognition service will be held at 6 pm. This will be a special time when we hear about the accomplishments of our children, and the opportunity to meet parents who may not attend church anywhere.

Memorial Day comes a little early this year. On the 24th we will have our normal schedule in the morning. That evening we will have a celebration/fellowship time to help us strengthen the ties ou our fellowship.

Finally we are looking toward the start of our summer schedule. Sunday Morinings will remain the same. Sunday Nights we will join together for a regular time of worship and a time of prayer. Wednesday will feature some interesting classes aimed at equipping folks for survival during economically difficult times. Please watch the worship folders for details.

Grace and Peace
