The calling of every
born-again believer on the face of the earth is to evangelize, or reach the
world for the sake of the Kingdom of God. We are called to evangelize our
home, our community, our city, our state, our country and all of the world by
sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
At Forest Hills, we took
a number of bold initiatives this year to evangelize our country and the world.
In 2004, we sent a mission team to The Ukraine in eastern Europe and to Monroe,
Michigan here in the United States. In 2005, we sent Mission teams to
Honduras and to the Gulf Coast to assist in the clan-up in the aftermath of
Hurricane Katrina. In 2006, we are sending a team to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico
to work with a local Baptist church in northern Mexico.
Mission Opportunities
 | Local Outreach
|
We are called to be "home missionaries" in our
daily activities. Our lives are a testimony to the Lord and to our church
that speak volumes about our Christian walk. Even if you are unable to me
a traveling member of a mission team, you are needed right here in our community
in north Alabama. Vacation Bible School is our greatest opportunity for
local outreach.
 | North American Outreach
|
Many parts of north America, right here
within the borders of our own country, have too few churches too far apart.
Many rural churches are small and need assistance from their sister churches in
carrying out backyard Bible clubs, building projects and many other community
outreach activities. It is for these very reasons that we helped support
Living Water Church in Oswego, New York and sent teams to work with Anchor
Baptist Church in Monroe, MI and to southern Mississippi to work with local
Baptist churches in disaster relief efforts.

To this day, we are still expected to follow the
Great Commission outlined in the book of Matthew - "Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you." In July, 2004, we sent a team to work with our IMB
missionaries in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. In June, 2005 we sent a team
to Talanga, Honduras to work with Helping Hands Ministries. In June, 2006,
we are sending a team to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to work with a local Baptist
church.
